IN TRANSIT January 11 through 13th. LA to LHR to BOM
My Homies.
On the plane now from LAX to LHR and I couldn’t have made it this far without the help of my Homies – both the last few days and in life. Hands down, I have the best support system that a girl could dream of. Blessed, blessed, blessed I am.
Thank you to the awesome, beautiful, generous, large hearted women who make up my safety net. You are the women upon whose shoulders I stand
Success is a Journey.
Not a destination. This trip feels symbolic for me. A few months ago I set an intention for peace and harmony in my life. That has helped guide my actions and steer them in a direction that warms me.
One of the things I have learned and embraced and now champion is that life is about growing, forgiving, loving, trusting that all is ok and a deep knowing that you are safe – no matter what. That deep knowing comes from stepping into the painful experiences that inevitably face us and instead of cringing, accepting the experience and letting love wash over the pain. Envisioning the pain like a rock and love is the water that surrounds it and covers it completely. The pain is a part of us, we need not run from it. As we accept it, it becomes smaller and only a piece of our experience, it does not define us.
Ultimately we are the stewards of our own lives. And it is our thinking that creates our emotions and thus our experience.
Heavy stuff, I know. Perhaps it’s the altitude mixed with sleep deprivation and a pinch of perspective that travel brings.
What I know is we are where we are so we better be in it and make it what we want – that can mean accept it or change it .
Be Here Now.
Cause you have no choice! Everything you needed to know in life, you can learn on an airplane, To have a pleasant journey in coach class on a 26 hour journey, you have learn to go with the flow. Simple. You’re sound asleep and the person next to you wants to pee, so you get up, no annoyance felt, it’s just what you do. Excuse me while I get up for a moment….
Cheerio Pip Pip
Landed in London and headed straight for my favorite restaurant “Giraffe”. It’s a lovely global themed place with world music and delicious food.
Lesson of the moment: Thinking you’re clever, don’t delete pictures off the camera BEFORE checking if they did indeed transfer to your laptop. Ergo…I took a few in transit shots at LAX and on the plane and somehow all 236 pictures, except those 3 transferred to my laptop moments ago. So you don’t get to see me with puffy eyes chill in economy class afterall.
Good news: I got upgraded to World Traveler Plus for the next leg of the journey. Tammy, remember the guy who checked me in at LAX? His request for my upgrade came through while I was flying ☺ Ladies , I always say, one should look cute at all times. Now don’t go getting all feminist on me. You know I don’t mean you cant go to the gym or grocery store or anywhere for that matter au naturale, I’m just saying a little lipgloss and some well placed undereye cover goes a long way.
